Porter's Big 5 Superhero Party!

Porter's party was so much fun! Nine 4 and 5 year olds was a little crazy, but it went really well! As the Joker (aka Briggs) had escaped from prison and threatened to ruin Batman's (Porter's) birthday party (it was Batman who put him in prison after all), all Porter's superhero friends came together for some Superhero training and to keep the party safe! Briggs did a great job as the Joker! He dropped balloon bombs which had to be popped, and then scattered kryptonite around the room which had to be carefully gathered with tongs. But when he tried to steal some of the gifts, the Superheroes ran him down with magic webs (silly string) and captured him. In a very happy ending though, the Joker decided to mend his wicked ways and was allowed to stay for the party, under the condition that he promise to be nice and behave! The kids were pretty funny. A few of them refused to touch the balloons or go near the kryptonite after I scared them to death telling them what it could do to their powers. I forgot that kids this age believe everything you say! Some of them wouldn't drink the Poison Ivy punch either! But it was fun...and now it's all over! Hooray!

The Superheroes were nice enough to get the webs off of the Joker once he promised to change. It was all very touching. Not one of them wanted to throw him in jail anyway! So cute!

I'm super lazy when it comes to the cake! Buy a good ice cream cake and plop a few toys and a candle on there! Works for me!

I didn't let Briggs paint his face much because I didn't want him to be too scary. However, I think we did it just enough to make him look like some poor sickly kid! Oh well!

Tyler did a fantastic job with the streamers. I put him in charge and he didn't disappoint! We also had the POW! and KABLAM! signs all over, but didn't think to get a picture of those or the cute "Superhero Training Center" sign I put on the door...and now of course, Sawyer has drawn all over it so...too late!

White Trash Bash

The rocker couple. I'd like to say that's a pillow Tyler has in there but...nope! It's real!
Ester and Spencer. Sadly, I didn't get a photo of the racing stripes Spencer had shaved onto the sides of his head.
Andy and MaRae. I think it's a little suspicious that MaRae just happened to have a house coat. I'm pretty sure she really wears it when no one's around.

When one of my favorite friends told me that she had declined an invite from someone to a New Year's party because she was going to our annual New Year's party, we decided we had better have one! Apparently I had mistakenly thought that the party we had last year was a one time deal, but now that I had been informed by my sweet and somewhat manipulative friend that it was indeed and annual thing, I decided we'd better take it up a notch. So we've made it the annual "Trailer Trash Bash." Wait...is that taking it UP a notch?...Anyway, it was so much fun that I'm already planning next years, thanks to Ester! Too bad I didn't get pictures of the games. Actually video would have been better. But you can't go wrong with Twinkies, Tater-Tots, and Spam and I loved serving on mis-matched paper goods guilt free!

Sledding

Sawyer was not a big fan of our sledding day, but the rest of us were! We have had much more snow in Germany this year than in the last three combined and while school was canceled far too many times for my taste, it was fun to get to play in the snow. Sawyer was a wimp, but everyone else was pretty brave. Fortunately Porter didn't hit the tree with his face until the very end!
