The Freaky Feast

Having Halloween on a Monday this year worked to stretch Halloween out into a four day super-holiday! Friday we trunk-or-treated at the church, Saturday we trick-or-treated on base, Sunday we had our Freaky Feast, and Monday was Halloween Caroling. Whew!...love Halloween, but we were ready to be done when Tuesday rolled around!

The Menu included: Moldy Bread, Chuck's Shoulder with Dismembered Fingers, Earth Worms, and a Kitty Litter Cake that several of the kids were too disturbed by to eat...no matter how I tried, they were just not convinced that it was only tootsie rolls.

Halloween

Every year we make loads of carameled apples and take them Halloween Caroling. Here was our Halloween Caroling song for this year (sung to the tune of the Gilligan's Island Theme Song)...

Now sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of Halloween Night.
Where goblins, bats, and witches too,
Just might give you a fright!

The family loaded up their van,
The delivery map was sure.
Seven passengers set out that night,
For a two hour tour, a two hour tour!

(Insert Shrieks and Evil Laughs here)

The goblins started sailing round,
The tiny van was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew,
The apples would be lost, the apples would be lost!

But we've made it safely to your door,
And we hope that you'll enjoy this treat from...

Gilligan, the Skipper too...
The Millionair...
And his wife...
The Movie Star, The Professor...
And Gladys the Monkey (lesser known character, but she did appeared in a couple of episodes)

Here on Halloween Night!

4th of July

We always have a 4th of July fireworks show on the base in Germany, but it just isn't the same as the show at Romney Stadium! We loved having both families together, some KFC, and the music blasting through the show! Just could have done with maybe a little less heat!

Hyrum Dam

Tara and Pig were awesome to take us out in their boat for a day! It was hands down our kids favorite day in the states! And it's a big thanks to Grandma Joyce too for being willing to stay on the beach with the little kids all day!

He's still got it! =)

Sophie never quite got all the way up on the knee board, but she decided half-way was good enough!
Briggs did great for his first time and even braved crossing the wake.
That's me hanging onto the back of the board with Porter. I stayed on as long as I could and then told him I was going to let go but that he should hang on. He was doing great, but the boat slowed down worried about leaving me in the open water and poor Porter submarined...and didn't let go.
